And We Have Lift Off!
Forty-two days later and we finally have a website! I think it was worth the wait, although I can't apologize enough for how long it took. We have a ton of exciting news, so I guess I'll just launch right into it.
First of all, D&D Game Day is this Saturday. We're running games at 2PM, 5PM, and 8PM if you're interested. There are five pre-generated 11th-level characters to choose from, and it should be lots of fun. Next up, Super Hero Day at the Penn Museum of Anthropology is this Sunday. We have some tables in the marketplace, and we'll be teaching Heroscape, Magic: the Gathering, and other games, for those interested.
Not too long after that, on April 4th, we kick off the first in our long, long series of art shows, with local artist Adam Rex showcasing some of his beautifully crafted artwork. Mr. Rex has done illustrations for several of Wizards of the Coast's franchises, including Magic: the Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons, but he's also an illustrator of children's books and a long-time resident of West Philadelphia. We couldn't be more stoked about having him kick-off our series of art shows, and about having his illustrations decorate our walls for a month.
Following that, we have some big news for Magic: the Gathering. April 10th sees the release of Duel Decks: Divine Vs. Demonic, and we're now taking preorders at $18 each; April 30th sees the release of the next expansion, Alara Reborn, and we're preselling booster boxes for $100 each; and, just this week Wizards of the Coast announced the August release of the next release in the From the Vault line, From the Vault: Exiled, featuring 15 premium, foil, once-banned, now-legal powerhouses of yesteryear, eight of which feature exclusive artwork (including the all-but-confirmed Balance). We won't be accepting preorders on this item, because it is extremely limited and we won't know for a little while yet how many copies we can obtain, but we should have some for sale, and it's exciting news either way.
Beyond that, we're running a sealed deck prerelease for Alara Reborn, Friday, April 24th at midnight (technically Saturday, the 25th, 12:00AM), just after FNM that night. The following weekend we'll be running two launch parties on Sunday, a sealed release in the afternoon and a draft in the evening. Those who attend both of our launch parties will receive a special prize!
Whew! I know I'm leaving a lot out, but thanks for checking out our website! We promise to keep it as updated as we possibly can. Have fun!
