We continue to be shut down for the foreseeable future, and I’ve updated the calendar to reflect the next few weeks, at least. I wanted to post a series of quick news blurbs for those of you interested.
First of all, we need help to continue to pay our staff and ensure that we’ll be able to be here when the dust settles. We have items and gift cards for sale on our online shop, but we’ve also set up a GoFundMe page because being closed for two weeks with no end in sight has left us in a really precarious position. If you can help, awesome! If not, we’d love it if you’d consider sharing these links! Please email me at benn@redcapscorner.com with inventory inquiries and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.
Second, we’ve set up a Discord server. There’s not a whole lot going on on it just yet, but it’s a way for the local community to stay in touch with and each other. Every Friday, feel free to post your FNM Arena event page screenshots here, and we’ll message you redemption codes for exclusive Arena sleeves. Beyond that, my plan is to try to implement some online events to help everyone settle in for the long-haul. Keep watching the Discord and this news page for more information about those as we develop them! Pathfinder Society is already continuing each Tuesday, but we’re looking to add some hobby nights on Zoom and some Magic events on Arena, among other considerations!
For other ways to help us survive, please consider making purchases from any of the companies found here and letting them know you’d like your purchase to support us. If you’re planning on playing a MagicFest Online event on Arena, you can also use the REDCAPS CORNER LANCASTER affiliate code to send part of your admission to us.
Seelie Court and the Redcap’s Rumble have been indefinitely postponed, but are still happening. The Ikoria prerelease has been preliminarily pushed back to May 15th, but I’m not yet sure if it’s just going to be on that day, or if we can run it all weekend. I will adjust the date on our calendar when I know for sure. Our X-Wing prime championship has also been postponed, and I’m waiting to find out about the upcoming Pokémon prerelease. Stay tuned!
Finally, as far as we know, our Summer Camp programs are still happening, and I think they’re going to be really important after this is all over! I know money is tight for everybody right now, but if you’re the parent of a child who might benefit from one of our camps, please consider how much planning has to go into bringing that programming to life. If everyone waits until May to sign-up we may have to scale back programming considerably just to stay on the safe side. We will, of course, refund (or otherwise reschedule in coordination with registrants) any summer camp registration for any camp that has to be canceled or postponed, but for now our assumption is that our June programming will continue as planned.
Thank you to every single person who has written, donated, purchased, or suggested during this tough time! We’re doing everything in our power to get through it, and your support means the world. I hope you’re all staying safe and finding ways to stay comfortable! We miss you all!
